For users who played 2008 RotoHog Fantasy Baseball Championship’s 2007 Baseball or Football games, here is a quick summary of the major changes to 2008 Baseball:
Pre-season Trading Floor: Replaces the 2008 RotoHog Fantasy Baseball Championship massive multi-team draft. Players will be released for trading in groups of IPOs on Saturday, March 1, Friday, March 14, and Friday, March 21.
Market Hours: The pre-season trading floor will be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week while the regular season trading floor will be open 7 days a week from 9am to 12 am midnight Pacific Time.
Live Market Updates: All users will now be able to see live player price changes on the roster and trading floor pages. This feature was previously only available to premium service members.
Transaction Fees: a 2008 RotoHog Fantasy Baseball Championship dollar transaction fee will be charged each time a player is bought or sold based on team value. Fees start at 0.10 2008 RotoHog Fantasy Baseball Championship dollars and increase to 4.50 for team values above 450.
Minimum Team Value: If a team falls below the minimum team value of 250 RotoHog dollars at the close of trading on any given Thursday, the team’s cash balance will be increased to bring the team’s value up to the minimum before the opening of trading on Friday.
Available Pitching Positions: 4 Starting Pitchers, 2 Relief Pitchers, no utility pitching positions.
Pitching Position Changes: Pitchers will either be designated as a starting pitcher or a relief pitcher. If a relief pitcher starts a game, his designation will be changed to a starter. If a starter has two relief appearances in two weeks, his designation will be changed to a reliever. When a pitcher’s designation changes, the pitcher will be benched and will no longer receive any points until he is placed into a position that matches his designation.
Five-Day Starting Pitcher Waiver Period: If a manager buys any Starting Pitcher and starts him during the five day waiver period after purchase, she can’t sell him until the end of the period. If the manager never starts the pitcher, she can sell him at anytime.
Position Usage Limits: Total innings pitched for all pitchers will be limited to 1,100 innings for the entire season.
Leagues: Teams may join an unlimited number of leagues. Second half new team leagues: Global League, Paid Leagues and Jackpot Leagues.
