Jarad was born on December 2nd, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in the South Suburbs. He spent his childhood in Calumet Park and later shifted to Homewood. He graduated in 2017 from Homewood-Flossmoor High School. 

Further, Jarad’s parents divorced when he was 3 years old, and his mother raised him and his older brother as single parents; she was a religious and conservative woman; she did not allow him to listen to hip hop, but he could listen to pop and rock. However, he listened to Blink-182, Billy Idol, Fall Out Boy, and Megadeth through video games like Guitar Hero.

In Jarad’s sophomore year of high school, he recorded songs on his smartphone and posted them on SoundCloud. Around this time, he began to take rapping more seriously. In 2015, he embarked on a music career as an independent artist when he signed a recording contract with Grade A Productions and then Interscope Records in 2017. 


He became famous with his 2018 song “Lucid Dreams,” which charted at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Also, it was comprised on his triple-platinum studio album Goodbye & Good Riddance in 2018 with the singles “Wasted,” “All Girls Are the Same,” “Lean wit Me,” and “Armed and Dangerous,” all of which peaked on the Hot 100. 


In 2018, Jarad then collaborated with Future on the mixtape Wrld on Drugs and released a second album, Death Race for Love, in 2019. The album became his first number-one debut on the US Billboard 200, which contained the platinum tracks “Robbery” and “Hear Me Calling.”

Jarad had agreed to visit drug rehabilitation weeks prior to his death. At the time of his death, the famous rapper was living in LA with his girlfriend, Ally Lotti. 


The duo revealed that they were dating on Instagram in November 2018 On December 8, 2019, he was aboard a jet flying from Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles to Chicago.  Juice Wrld died due to toxic levels of oxycodone and codeine. His funeral was held at the Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ in Harvey, Illinois, on December 13, 2019.
