Bollywood actor Salman Khan has shared interesting details about the marriage of his parents, Salim Khan and Salma Khan.

According to Salman, his maternal grandfather was unhappy about his daughter’s marriage to Salim Khan, but the reason was not religious differences. It was a matter of certain concerns.

Speaking on an episode of Bigg Boss Season 18, Salman said his grandfather was upset that his daughter wanted to marry a handsome man who aspired to become an actor. He feared that his daughter would struggle to adapt to a family connected to the film industry.

The actor said that his mother Salma Khan’s siblings were very fond of his father, Salim Khan, but his maternal grandfather did not speak to his father for five consecutive years.

Salman recalled that when his younger brother Sohail Khan was born, his grandfather arrived from Mahim to Bandra carrying a box of sweets. On that occasion, he expressed regret that he had not been able to watch his grandsons grow up.

According to Salman, his grandfather regretted for the rest of his life that he had not spoken to Salim Khan for those five years.

Salim Khan and Salma Khan were married in 1964. They have four children: Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira Khan. Salim Khan later also married actress and dancer Helen, who was welcomed into the family.
