Taylor Swift Stuns Fans With a “Cinderella” Look at the Academy Museum Gala

Los Angeles, October 18, 2026

Fans could not stop praising Taylor Swift after she arrived at the Academy Museum Gala in a fairy-tale ball gown that drew instant comparisons to Cinderella.

The 36-year-old star attended the gala, sometimes called the “Met Gala of the West,” on Saturday night, October 17. She wore a Dior ballgown in a strapless, icy-blue design. The gown was designed by Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson and had a full, flowing skirt in a muted gray-blue shade. Its bodice had slight ruching and sparkles throughout. Reports also described a subtle sweetheart neckline, flared hips and a beaded bow at the front.

Swift paired the gown with statement diamond chandelier earrings instead of a necklace. Her hair was curled and styled in a half-updo. Her stylist was Joseph Cassell Falconer.

Swift’s connection to the designer goes back to her wedding. She married Travis Kelce earlier this year in a Christian Dior Haute Couture gown designed by Jonathan Anderson. Some outlets suggested the pale blue gown could be read as a nod to the “something blue” wedding tradition.

Swift was also a performer at the event, not just a guest. The gala honored filmmaker and composer John Carpenter, actor Colman Domingo and Oscar winner Charlize Theron. Academy Museum Director and President Amy Homma called Swift an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world.

Photos and videos of the look spread quickly on social media. Fans called the gown a fairy tale come to life, and many began calling the singer “Cinderella.”
