‘No Time To Die’: Here’s Everything About The New Bond Movie

The forthcoming spy movie will be the 25th installment in the James Bond movie series produced by Eon Productions. And this movie will be featuring Daniel Craig in his fifth and final outing as the iconic M16 agent James Bond, a journey which he started way back in 2006 with Casino Royale. And while the plot of the movies he first appeared in as 007 was centered around the world of high roller casino games and adventures that had to do with gambling, now he will be starring in a film quite different when it comes to its plot.

In this movie, the storyline takes place 5 years after the capture of Ernst Stavro Blofeld with James Bond having left active service. The director compared Bond to a “wounded animal” and described his state of mind as ‘struggling to deal with his role as a ‘00’ agent. Craig stated that the film is “about relationships and family.” But 007 is approached by Felix Leiter, his friend, and a CIA officer who enlists his help in the search for Valdo Obruchev, a missing scientist. When it becomes clear that Obruchev was abducted, James Bond must confront unthinkable danger and go on his next adventure while trying to save the scientist.

The film is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga from a screenplay by Neal Purvis, Roberts Wade, Fukunaga, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. A lot of the stars will be reprising their previous roles and there will be some new faces as well who will become an addition to the cast of the James Bond movies.

The latest Bond movie is set to tie up James Bond’s storyline with Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Rory Kinnear and Ben Whishaw all reprising their roles from previous films, while Christoph Waltz returns as Bond’s nemesis Blofeld, and the Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek plays a mysterious new villain, Safin. There is even speculation that Malek might actually be playing the role of a classic bond villain – Dr. No, but any news around that has understandably been kept tightly under wraps. Lashana Lynch has also been cast in the film as a fellow agent, one who also has the ‘license to kill’ AKA the ‘00’ moniker, and is heavily rumored to pick up the 007 mantle once Bond’s race is run after this movie. Ana de Armas rounds up the cast, rumored to be playing Bond’s love interest in the film.

The development of the film began in 2016 and it will be the first film in the series to be co-produced and distributed by Universal Picture, which acquired the rights following the expiration of Sony Pictures’ contract after the release of Spectre in 2015.

No Time to Die was originally scheduled for release in April 2020, but was postponed worldwide due to the new coronavirus pandemic. It is now scheduled for release on 12 November in the United Kingdom and on 20 November in the United States. The thing is that there is no telling whether the release date will get further postponed or not, given the uncertainty regarding COVID-19. But one thing is for sure, no matter when the movie comes out there will be a massive fan base waiting to see their favorite fictional character back in action, and the longer the release date will be postponed, the bigger the anticipation will be.
